Strengthened by cultural practices and traditional teachings, support will assist in restoring balance to individuals and the community affected by trauma and violence. Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in social work, social justice, Indigenous studies, health related and/or a combination of pertinent experiences in these areas. Experiences with cultural activities and understanding of indigenous concepts of care and support. Experience leading a team in a dynamic fast-paced environment. Knowledge of disabilities, disorders and mental health issues.
Driver's Licence and access to transportation.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will meet with participants and their families, collaterals, etc to give them an introduction to the program, as well as a support plan. They will also be responsible for maintaining and updating a relevant support plan for each participant. Responsible for relaying support plan information to staff on a regular basis. Ensuring participants have access to health and cultural services. Collaborate with other systems or members identified in the support plan. Connect with other resources to meet the needs of the participant. Additionally, this role will involve engaging with our community by providing transportation services for participants. This includes driving individuals to and from various locations as needed to support their participation in our programs or services.
