McCain Foods (Canada) \xe2\x80\x93 Florenceville Prepared Foods Facility is currently looking for a Carton Former/Wrapper Operator to complete their team.

JOB TITLE: Carton Former / Wrapper Operator

DEPARTMENT: Prepared Foods

JOB GRADE: Grade 3

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Grade 12 education or GED
• Basic computer skills would be an asset
• Must be able to work shift work including weekend with minimal supervision
• Ability to work well with plant supervision and production employees
• Team player with excellent attendance
• Successful completion of 30 day training period
• Ability to accept and embrace change in the day to day operations
• Must have good mathematical skills and complete production forms accurately and neatly
• Must be self motivated with an excellent attendance record and able to work well in a team environment.
• Pushing, pulling and lifting of 15- 20kgs
• Ability to learn to perform some autonomous maintenance activities (inspection, lubrication etc)
• Demonstrate continue improvement (MCE) initiatives and involvement
• Joint health and Safety Committee experience an asset

DUTIES:

• Follow JHA\xe2\x80\x99s and work safely. Participate in STEP program (Behavioral safety observations)
• Dealing with production/packaging issues, working in a fast-paced team environment
• Work in wet and temperature controlled environment (between 5 and 8 C)
• Cleaning and Sanitation of equipment. Maintaining a neat work area, as well as a daily housekeeping report of the area. Report and eliminate condensation.
• Participate in Team meetings and Kaizens, as required. Relay information to other Team members as an area Lead (Key Area Resource).
• Work in wet and temperature controlled environment (between 5 and 8 C)
• Responsible for the yearly completion of the Performance Excellence Program (PEP) training and evaluation.
• Complete core curriculum E-learning courses
• Incumbent will be required to cross-train and help break other positions when necessary
• Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and report any issues
• Operates all of the equipment associated with the carton former/wrapper
• Trouble shoot, adjust and maintain packaging equipment
• Relay information to other Team members as an area Lead (Key Area Resource).
• Filling out paperwork and entering data on computer accurately and efficiently
• Ensure SQCDME targets are met by understanding and goal setting of KPI\xe2\x80\x99s
• Must follow \xe2\x80\x9cGood Manufacturing Practices\xe2\x80\x9d (GMP\xe2\x80\x99s)
• All additional duties as they become assigned.

Applicants must possess a good safety record and continually demonstrate \xe2\x80\x9csafety first.\xe2\x80\x9d Selection of employees for promotion is based upon such factors as ability, special training, experience, prior PEP Ratings, attendance, ability to meet the physical demands of the position, education, length of service, and involvement in additional assignments. Length of service will be the determining factor when all other factors are relatively equal. Testing may be required depending on the position applied for. Interviews will held as necessary and those selected for interview are determined based on meeting the criteria as noted above. An evaluation period will be used to determine the candidate\xe2\x80\x99s suitability to the position. Shifts are subject to change and are not guaranteed due to scheduling demands.
