ROLE SUMMARY:
Peter Ballantyne Group of Companies (PBGOC) is dedicated to managing PBCN's corporate business investments and overseeing operations for them. Key Responsibilities:
Build, set up, and strip concrete forms for footings, walls, and slabs.
Construct and install wooden structures such as frames, stairs, and supports.
Install foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as: wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics, and composites of multiple materials.
Form, pour, and finish concrete for foundations, sidewalks, slabs, curbs, and other structures.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine specifications.
Ensure all work meets quality standards and complies with safety regulations.
Assist in the installation of reinforcement bars (rebar) and other concrete structures.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored.
Follow safety protocols.
Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project deadlines and goals are met.
Qualifications:
Experience in carpentry, construction, or a related trade (formal certification is not required but an asset).
Experience in concrete formwork, pouring, and finishing.
Ability to measure, cut, and assemble materials with accuracy.
Knowledge of basic construction techniques with an emphasis in concrete..
Comfortable using a variety of hand and power tools.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and construction codes.
Role Criteria:
Drug and Alcohol screening is required/mandatory.
Safety certificates (SCOT, WHMIS, First Aid, etc.)
