Duties and Responsibilities
Ability to study job specifications and determine appropriate construction methods.
Blueprint reading and layout with the ability to work in both metric and imperial measurements.
Measuring, cutting and installing a variety of materials including wood, steel, metal, concrete, and others as required.
Forming, framing, and foundations for commercial projects.
Maintaining high standards of quality workmanship while adhering to original plans and specifications.
Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools.
Assisting Site Superintendent with structural design, planning, layout, and installation.
Ability to plan and prepare for tasks, including material takeoffs, efficiently and accurately.
Fit and install fittings and fixtures including trim items, such as doors, stairs, molding, and hardware.
Ability to operate tools, machines, and other equipment.
Ability to assess the quality of woodwork and materials.
Keep a clean worksite free of debris.
Responsible for completing and maintaining required project reports and documentation, timecards, and photography in document control system.
Promoting and demonstrating a strong culture of health and safety.
Qualifications
Completion of Carpentry Apprenticeship or equivalent combination of 5+ years carpentry experience and technical training.
Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
Ability to read technical documents and drawings and understanding of building practices and building codes.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
Adaptable and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, within tight deadlines while maintaining safety and high-quality standards.
Experience using Procore is considered an asset.
