Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various carpentry techniques and be proficient in using power tools. This role involves constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. The Carpenter will work on diverse projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship while adhering to safety standards.

Job location is in Shuniah, ON (5 minutes outside Thunder Bay). 325 Highway 527

Duties

Accurately read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to meet project requirements Construct, install, and repair structures, and fixtures using wood, plywood, and other materials. Framing interior and exterior walls. Installing flooring, paneling, windows, roofing, and doors Measure, cut, and install materials with precision Perform construction painting as needed to finish projects Lay tiles and install flooring materials with precision Conduct heavy lifting tasks as required for transporting materials and equipment. Collaborate with managers, technicians, and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget Ensure all work is completed in accordance with building codes and safety regulations. Maintain a clean and organized work environment throughout the duration of projects.

Requirements

Red Seal Certified (preferred) G license and vehicle to get to and from shop in Shuniah, ON Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role in the construction industry. 5+ years experience in residential and/or commercial plumbing. Proficient in the use of power tools and hand tools relevant to carpentry tasks. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks associated with carpentry work. Experience operating forklifts Experience with basic electrical and plumbing. Experience with roof installation and tile laying is desirable. Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team while maintaining effective communication.

Pay: $32.50-$40.00 per hour
