Area of Assignment:
Hospital & PremisesBasic Function and Scope:
As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the incumbent is responsible for layout, installation, repairing, finishing, and maintaining various structures, fixtures, and buildings.Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday - days (with flexibility to meet the needs of the hospital)Pay Rate:
Will be in accordance with the S.E.I.U., Local 1 Canada Service Workers Collective Agreement for Carpenter Classification.Qualifications:
Education:
Secondary School Graduation Diploma; Ontario Certificate of Qualification for General Carpentry.
Experience:
Experience with construction and/or renovation projects.
Required Skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, courteously and tactfully; Analytical and problem solving skills; Knowledge of relevant building codes, legislation, regulations, policies and procedures installation and maintenance; Computer skills including the ability to operate computerized spreadsheet, database and word processing, programs at a proficient level; Ability to organize work assignments, meet deadlines and work independently; Ability to work cooperatively with other trades; Must have annual review education completed; Must have previous proven good performance and attendance record.
