Carpenters (GRT) at On Side rebuild and restore damaged personal property anywhere and anytime a disaster strikes. With the goal of getting things back to a pre-disaster state GRTs use the skills of carpenters, drywallers, painters and magicians! The multi-talented GRT is skilled in the following ways:
Repairs to wooden structures of all sorts
Framing
Drywalling, mudding, sanding and finishing
Brush and roller painting (could include walls, ceilings, trim, landscapes, and portraiture not included)
Ceiling installation, knockdown and texturing
Insulation and vapour barrier installation
Being awesome, in general!
Installation
Doors
Trim, moldings, and baseboards
Hardware installation
Cabinetry
What you bring
The GRT bring a host of abilities to their work with a 'get it done!' attitude.
Additional abilities required include:
Experience working in construction environments
Tools and the skills to use them
Strong people and communication skills
Attention to detail, passion for quality and pride in the work you do
A safety mindset
Valid drivers license
Ability to pass a criminal record check
Ability to communicate in English
Other stuff that'll help you be successful but isn't mandatory:
Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement.

Are you a Finishing Carpenter that can take job from insulation to completed task?
Are you comfortable working in disaster environments such as water damage and fire damage?
Do you have any experience with demolition? If yes, please describe what you have demolished and tools you have used.
Are you able to work longer hours when required: 10-12 hours per day and/or weekends? Overtime is always paid for overtime hours.
