Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware Estimate costs and materials Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages Plan repair work to be performed Organize tasks to accomplish the work
