Executive Aviation is looking for a full-time Cargo Operations Manager to provide exceptional leadership to our new airline cargo handling operation at Regina International Airport (YQR).

The Operations Manager will function as the accountable leader for all daily operational activities related to movement of cargo on behalf of our airline partners. The Ops Manager will have a strong focus on safety and security and be a subject matter expert on all operational and regulatory processes and procedures related to air cargo movement. Performance will be measured by operational KPI\xe2\x80\x99s, efficient facility utilization, customer and client satisfaction and front-line engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all warehouse and airside cargo operational activities, ensuring the safe and secure transport of all cargo
  • As a subject matter expert on all operational and regulatory cargo processes and procedures, provide training and ongoing coaching and support to ensure service excellence to our partners and their cargo clients
  • Organize and manage the successful end-to-end movement of cargo through the base
  • Pro-actively schedule appropriate resources and equipment for both day-of operations and forward planning
  • Manage customer, partner relationships, and ensure compliance in accordance with all local agreements
  • Manage local relationships with airport authorities, regulatory agencies and corporate resources related to day-of operational activity
  • Represent Executive Aviation and provide leadership to the airport community through active participation in airport committees relating to operations safety and management
  • Responsible for implementing processes and providing pro-active plans to ensure team compliance to Executive Aviation, Airline, Airport and Transport Canada standards
  • Forecast, monitor, and review key performance indicators
  • Accountable for meeting base performance targets aligned through Executive Aviation or Airline commitment to move cargo safely, efficiently, and on-time
  • Manage all communication between the airline and other stakeholders including Transport Canada
  • Manage Cargo Coordinators through continuous development, as the accountable leaders for all day-of operational activities and decisions
  • Maintain excellent employee relations in line with Executive Aviation Team Experience objectives
  • Conduct cargo warehouse and ramp quality assurance audits related to the safe and efficient movement and handling of cargo
  • Accept, load, unload, and release cargo in accordance with airline and Transport Canada requirements including verification of documents and physical cargo security searches.
  • Accurately prepare airway bills, liability waivers, and other documents required for the shipping of air cargo along with appropriate updates to the carrier\xe2\x80\x99s cargo system
  • Verify weights and dimensions of cargo shipments to ensure appropriate billing and weight/balance planning
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a high-volume airport operation with a significant level of internal and external dependencies and relationships
  • A minimum of 3 years of Customer Service experience with demonstrated strategic and in-the-moment critical thinking skills
  • Previous experience in a cargo or freight logistics position is an asset
  • Proven track record leading a team to meet operational and performance targets
  • Strong business acumen to deliver departmental plans including budget
  • Excellent ability to multitask & handle changing priorities
  • Available on an on-call basis to participate in the coordination and management of elevated issues
  • Proficient in PC based applications, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Physical ability to consistently lift to 70 lbs/32kgs
  • Personal flexibility to work shift work which could include early mornings, days, late evenings, weekends and/or holidays
  • Ability to obtain and maintain RAIC
  • Must be able to obtain an AVOP (D/A) to drive on the ramp
  • Must have a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license

In Regina, our Cargo operation is 24/7/365, with shifts between 0400 and 2200 Monday through Friday, and 0800-1700 on Saturdays. Please note that these times can change at the discretion of the airline.
