Job Description

Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Ramp Operations, the Cargo Network Planner is responsible to maximize aircraft utilization by forecasting, planning and assigning aircraft resources based on business requirements.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Identify freight load requirements, create flight blocks based on future forecasted loads, i.e. routes that need more/less capacity to maximize customer service and efficiency Monitor and assess passenger loads and organize aircraft requirements to maximize customer service and efficiency Monitor and assess freight volumes and create flight blocks as necessary to ensure freight SLAs are met while ensuring efficient aircraft utilization Work with Cargo/Ramp Management to ensure that department is meeting Company OTP expectations Communicate to the business components any opportunity to increase passenger load factors on ad hoc passenger flights or freighters Consult with SOCC to determine equipment suitability based on airport conditions Assist with creating flight blocks for passengers and freight due to cancelled flights, ensuring prompt response to cancellations to minimize customer inconvenience Monitor the OPS Board, consulting and communicating with all departments to ensure that operations run smoothly and efficiently Ensure efficient operations of seat packs Communicate on an ongoing basis to the Loadmaster/Manager any unsafe activity and/or practices taking place in the workplace. In addition, communicate any malfunctions of the equipment or facilities. Find solutions to resource and load challenges when issues arise Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations Sufficient knowledge of the aviation industry in terms of regulations, weather, and ability to provide rough calculations of trips (distances, payloads, passenger limits, etc.) Knowledge of cargo and ramp operations Strong computer skills with direct experience using software such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Internet Explorer, etc.

Working Conditions

Physically able to perform all listed job duties Travel by aircraft and other means as required by role Work performed primarily in an office environment Occasional outdoor work may be required Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and telephone Must be capable of lifting up to 50lbs Some travel may be required
