Job Summary

North Bay family looking for a part-time caregiver to provide 24 hour care for our elderly mother. The ideal candidate has a caring, compassionate personality, and can stay with our mother for two shifts per week ( 48 hours). This person would be responsible for assisting with personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping duties.

Personal Support Services and Respite Services are currently in place on a regular basis to assist with personal care and to provide respite relief.

The salary is based on a daily (24) hour rate, not an hourly rate.

Successful applicants will be asked to provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check and employment and personal references.

Duties

Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing. Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences. Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being. Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals. Assist with mobility and transfers to ensure safety and comfort. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties. Communicate effectively with family members and healthcare providers regarding client needs and progress.

Qualifications

Previous experience in caregiving, senior care, or related fields is preferred but not required. Familiarity with meal preparation and dietary considerations for seniors. Experience in hospice care or nursing home settings is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients. Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care. Ability to follow instructions from nurses or healthcare professionals effectively. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as needed.
