Job Summary:
The Caregiver/Home Support Worker provides personalized, non-clinical support to clients in their homes, ensuring their comfort, safety, and social engagement. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, including personal support tasks such as grooming, dressing, and other aspects of personal hygiene, as well as offering companionship. Clinical or nursing tasks are not included in this position. We are seeking compassionate, caring, attentive individuals who are dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of seniors and people with disabilities.
Experience- Requirements:
Detail-oriented, dependable, honest, nurturing, and upbeat
Compassionately support seniors and safeguard their homes, always with dignity, respect, and a warm, empathetic approach.
Comfortable working one-on-one with clients
Effective communication skills in English
(written and spoken)
Previous experience in home support, caregiving, or a related field preferred.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable.
Certification in Home Support or equivalent is an asset.
Valid First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
Food Safe awareness or certification is an asset.
Ability to maintain a clean and organized environment.
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and perform physical tasks safely.
Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols.
Availability for part-time shifts
Smartphone savvy for clocking in/out and completing visit notes
Complete, pass criminal record check and background checks
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation is a bonus, but not required
Flexible availability

Duties (Caregiver Tasks):
Provide companionship and meaningful conversation
Transport clients to appointments and errands
Dementia and Alzheimer's care as needed
Personal care assistance (bathing, bathroom assistance)
Remind clients about medications and appointments
Light housekeeping, meal planning/prep, and light grocery shopping
Safe transportation to and from appointments
Spend quality time and offer companionship
Assist with pet care for clients who have dogs or cats
Overnight support available
Shifts cover morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight
