Job Summary
The Career Services Coordinator plays a pivotal role in
ensuring the successful placement of CIMT College graduates into relevant employment and practicum/internship position
s. The primary KPIs for this role include achieving high employment rates within the field of study within six months of course completion and placing students into practicum/internship positions within one or two days of their course completion date or theory end date.
Qualifications
:
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Career Counseling, Human Resources, Education, or a related field.
Minimum of 1 years of experience in career services, recruitment, or a related area.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proven ability to build and maintain employer relationships.
Familiarity with job search strategies and career counseling techniques.
Proficiency in MS Office and career services management software.
Key Responsibilities
:
1. Student Coordination and Support
Serve as the primary contact for students preparing for practicum placements.
Guide students through resume building, interview preparation, and workplace readiness.
Maintain ongoing communication to monitor student progress and resolve placement issues promptly.
2. Employer and Placement Host Relations
Establish and maintain effective relationships with practicum hosts and employers.
Match students with appropriate placements based on program requirements and individual goals.
Coordinate placement schedules, contracts, and related documentation in collaboration with employers and academic staff.
3. Administrative and Reporting Duties
Maintain accurate placement and employment records in the student management system.
Prepare regular progress reports and update management on placement outcomes.
Ensure compliance with institutional policies and deadlines related to practicum placements.
4. Event and Program Support
Assist in organizing job fairs, employer networking events, and on-campus recruitment sessions.
Support the implementation of new initiatives aimed at enhancing student employability.
5. Customer Service Excellence
Provide professional, courteous, and solution-oriented communication to students and employers.
Respond promptly to inquiries and assist in resolving placement or administrative challenges.

Work Conditions
:
This is a full-time position based at [7200 Goreway Drive, Mississauga, Ontario].
Some travel may be required to attend employer meetings, job fairs, and other events.
Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary to support student events and activities.
