Your Opportunity:
Come join our amazing team as a Nursing Care Manager, in a position based out of Nanton. The Care Manager position at the Silver Willow Lodge and Supportive Living (ISFL team, ALA organization), will be responsible for providing leadership to an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals dedicated to providing leading care to Albertans. The staff that this role supports, provide on-site care to Type B & Type B secure residents, 24hrs/ day. Your leadership, direction and organization of these departments will be in support of the vision, mission and business plan of AHS. The Care Manager will be making key decisions and establishing and contributing to the achievements and goals of the ISFL portfolio following CCHSS guidelines. As the Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders, facilitating change management, promoting team development, teamwork and coordinating staffing and clinical work as identified by the Site Manager and Director. Note: This position is based on site, in Nanton at the Silver Willow Lodge and Supportive living (70 south of the Calgary city limits).
Description:
Frontline Care Manager of Nurses (RNs and LPNs), Health Care Aides, Administration and Recreation staff. Provide leadership, support and education to all site staff and support all staffing concerns. The Care Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining an effective framework for the operations of patient care services in order to facilitate the delivery of efficient, effective and safe patient care. You will be implementing and monitoring your portfolio's budget while undertaking risk management, quality assurance and utilization of information in this field. As the successful candidate, you will have experience successfully communicating with different stakeholders and demonstrate a person-centered approach. We are also looking for a leader who has the ability to develop creative approaches to client and resident care and who demonstrates sound critical thinking and ethical decision making.

Required Qualifications:

Active registration and practice permit with CRNA/professional health care association license. Minimum of 5 years of front-line experience with demonstrated leadership competencies (e.g., participation on committees/projects, leading peers, consulting to management, conducting education, sitting on external boards, involvement with professional association etc.).

Additional Required Qualifications:

A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, and client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master of Nursing preferred. Bachelor's degree in health services or, equivalent education/ experience may be considered. Previous leadership and/or management experience in a progressive environment is preferred. Experience in Supportive living and/ or seniors care an asset. A working knowledge of the Collective Agreements (HSAA, AUPE and UNA) is an asset.
