We are seeking a highly motivated Captain with proven skills to join our team in delivering world-class day tour experience for our guests on the water. We are located at Friday Harbor marina in Innisfil, ON. We provide bareboat and skippered day charters on Lake Simcoe. Our fleet consist of 20-23 Ft new pontoons, bowriders, fishing boats. Responsibilities \xc2\xb7 Assemble & check required supply levels and equipment pre and post tour \xc2\xb7 Greet passengers, provide them with life jackets according to the size, and get signed Waiver of Liability and Boat Rules \xc2\xb7 Conduct passenger orientations and safety drill \xc2\xb7 Ensure guests adhere to boat rules and safety procedures throughout the experience \xc2\xb7 Obey all marine regulations regarding safe vessel operation around marine wildlife \xc2\xb7 Conduct reporting and record keeping as required \xc2\xb7 Uphold agreed upon operational procedures \xc2\xb7 The Candidate must be confident in the handling and operating a Small Vessel on Lake Simcoe in different weather conditions (free training provided) \xc2\xb7 The Candidate must have sufficient practical knowledge of seamanship, piloting, and following Rules-of-the-Road to properly exercise full authority over the Small Vessel \xc2\xb7 The Candidate must have the ability to dock Small Vessels at any slip in the Friday Harbour Marina (free training provided) \xc2\xb7 Be presentable, calm, and reliable, follow SAIL LA VIE dress code and etiquette, wear uniform. \xc2\xb7 Have strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude Requirements \xc2\xb7 Pleasure Craft Operation Card (PCOC) \xc2\xb7 Small Vessel Operation Proficiency (SVOP) or willing to obtain one \xc2\xb7 Restricted Marine Radio Operator\xe2\x80\x99s certificate (VHF Marine Radio) \xc2\xb7 Current Marine Basic First Aid (training provided by Captain expenses) \xc2\xb7 Ability to successfully complete a criminal background check \xc2\xb7 Candidates, who, in addition to the above, have relevant skills such as boat-handling, customer service, foreign language knowledge, will be given strong consideration \xc2\xb7 A positive attitude and good work ethic \xc2\xb7 Strong verbal communication skills Working Conditions \xc2\xb7 Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays \xc2\xb7 Work area is located alongside deep water Our team is maintaining world highest industry standards \xc2\xb7 All candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada \xc2\xb7 Sail La Vie is an equal opportunity employer committed to hiring a diverse workforce \xc2\xb7 Contract with Sail La Vie will be conditional upon the successful candidate pass the Operating Test, takes onsite training and orientation Job Type: Fixed term contract Salary: From $45.00 per hour Schedule:
