Summary

We are seeking a Capital Projects & Facilities Manager to oversee the execution of capital projects at our Keno Hill site. Reporting to the General Manager, this role will manage project execution in collaboration with site operations, technical staff, contractors, and vendors. Additionally, the manager will ensure the smooth operation of essential services, accommodations, and building maintenance, as well as oversee camp safety and transportation logistics with airline charter companies. The Keno Hill mine, located within the Keno Hill Silver District in Canada's Yukon Territory. Keno Hill, is one of the highest-grade silver districts in the world, is situated 350 kilometres north of Whitehorse, and lies within the traditional territory of the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyak Dun. It comprises 242 square kilometres (km2) with numerous mineral deposits and more than 35 historical past-producing mine sites. Keno Hill is expected to produce 2.7-3.1 million ounces of silver in 2025 as the mine ramps up production.

The mine is owned and operated by Hecla Mining Company, headquartered in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Established in 1891, Hecla has a rich history as a distinguished and respected precious metals producer. • Project Administration - includes obtaining project approvals (AFE), reporting on progress, deciding on staffing and manpower requirements, appropriate spending levels and providing approvals and authorizations throughout completion of Capital project.
• Technical - knowledge pertinent to Construction/Mining/Process design relevant to related mining projects/operations. Collaborate with technical & engineering activities and the technical activities and contractors.
• Cost Control - monitor overall project costs vs. budget including consultants, contractors/labor, materials, and all other costs. Intervene if project costs are deviating unfavorably from plan. Report on cost variances with reasons and recommend corrective actions.
• Schedule - develop and approve project schedules and monitor project progress to ensure timelines are met. Intervene and act if schedule problems arise and provide mitigation measures to realign progress to required needs.
• Health & Safety - through daily, weekly, and long-range involvement related to Health and Safety, maintain the safe execution of assigned projects.
• Oversee the flight operations, site roads, maintenance of all site buildings including camp, accommodations & catering services, and site waste & water management programs along with all associated infrastructure.
• Identification of cost reduction and efficiency opportunities and the motivation and execution of the same; operating with a continuous improvement mindset.

Qualifications
==================

• Relevant Project and Construction management experience, with industrial knowledge and education with related Trades, Technology, or Engineering discipline.
• 15+ years of experience preferably in the mining industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for this position to ensure all objectives are achieved.
• Incumbent must be motivated and organized.
• This position requires a thorough level of knowledge of the Mining Act and Regulations as well as other Provincial and Federal Safety & Environmental regulations in effect.
• Valid class 5 driver's license.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

• Ensuring that plant and equipment operate within their safe working limits.
• Ensuring that correct equipment is used for the job.
• Participating in risk assessment methodology.
• Participating in safety initiatives.
• Receiving training and instruction as required.
• Maintaining good housekeeping standards

Work Environment and Job Schedule

This position will require you to work a rotating shift of 14 days on and 14 days off and you will be provided camp housing and meals. As a managerial role, it will be expected that you will be available to support your team offsite as needed. Employees will be frequently exposed to; outside weather conditions, snow conditions; extreme cold, extreme heat, potentially hazardous wildlife; moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; explosives and vibration.
