Reporting to the Leader, Grant, Partner and Industry Relations, as the Capital Grant Coordinator, you will coordinate identifying, exploring, applying for, monitoring and reporting grant and investment opportunities for a specific capital asset type. Your focus will be on supporting Capital project delivery through leveraging grants, financing, or other investment opportunities such as partnerships with external parties. You will liaise with capital service lines who may have projects suitable for a grant or investment opportunity and support them through the process, from application to successful delivery. Primary duties include:

  • Proactively seek and respond to grants, financing and/or collaboration opportunities for a specific capital asset category (i.e. Facilities/ Transportation/ Public Spaces/ Utilities).
  • Coordinate the delivery of grants and contribution funds for specific projects, from application stage through to reporting and project close out stages.
  • Monitor, track, analyze and report on grant and investment opportunity progression, including assessment of success rates and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Research potential undeveloped opportunities and explore new investment options to pursue.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new industry partners and funding agencies.

  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts who need to input into an application.

  • Provide information to funders with tight timelines or turnaround responses in a time-sensitive manner.





Qualifications
  • A completed 2 year Diploma in Applied Sciences, Engineering, Finance, Project Control, Marketing or a related field, and at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience is required.
  • General understanding of engineering consulting phases and construction processes is required.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver\'s Licence (or provincial equivalent), with no more than 6 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending OR; a valid Graduated Driver\'s Licence (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending.
  • The ability to obtain a City of Calgary operator\'s permit.
  • Experience with capital asset prioritization and investments is considered an asset.
  • Experience working within a project and/or grant management cycle; including grant design, selection, contract, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, including submitting information within an urgent timeframe is an asset.
  • You have the ability to communicate effectively and possess executive writing skills.
  • You have the ability to adhere to tight timelines and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Success in this position requires the ability to work in a team environment, demonstrated collaboration and influencing skills, the ability to communicate effectively, organizational and self-motivational skills.


Working Conditions: Office environment with occasional site visits.

Compensation: Pay Grade 10 $40.08 - 53.57 per hour

Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day
work week with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.




Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
