Job Summary: The Waegwoltic Club is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Canteen Supervisor to join our Food & Beverage Department for the 2024 season. The Canteen Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the canteen, ensuring high-quality service and food safety standards, and managing a team of youth workers aged 15-18. Reports to: Canteen Manager, Sous Chef, Head Chef, Food & Beverage Manager Supervises: Canteen Workers Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the preparation and sale of food and beverage items in the canteen.
Ensure that all staff follow standard recipes and safe food handling practices.
Manage the scheduling and attendance of canteen staff.
Train and supervise canteen workers, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
Handle monetary transactions and operate the point of sale system.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the canteen and food storage areas.
Monitor inventory levels and make recommendations for maintenance and repairs of equipment.
Perform open and end-of-shift duties as outlined in the department handbook.
Attend department staff meetings as required.
Handle emergency situations according to club procedures.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid food safety certification.
Knowledge of basic culinary fundamentals and food safety practices.
Ability to supervise and motivate a team of young workers.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work in a hot, humid, and noisy environment.
Physical ability to stand for long periods, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds.
