Job Title: Canteen Supervisor Location: Waegwoltic Club Position Type: Full-time, Seasonal Hourly Rate: $18.00 per hour plus tips Availability: Full or nearly full availability from today\'s date until Labour Day. Ideal candidates will be available to work full-time after Labour Day until the end of the year. Job Summary: The Waegwoltic Club is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Canteen Supervisor to join our Food & Beverage Department for the 2024 season. The Canteen Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the canteen, ensuring high-quality service and food safety standards, and managing a team of youth workers aged 15-18. Reports to: Canteen Manager, Sous Chef, Head Chef, Food & Beverage Manager Supervises: Canteen Workers Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the preparation and sale of food and beverage items in the canteen.
- Ensure that all staff follow standard recipes and safe food handling practices.
- Manage the scheduling and attendance of canteen staff.
- Train and supervise canteen workers, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
- Handle monetary transactions and operate the point of sale system.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the canteen and food storage areas.
- Monitor inventory levels and make recommendations for maintenance and repairs of equipment.
- Perform open and end-of-shift duties as outlined in the department handbook.
- Attend department staff meetings as required.
- Handle emergency situations according to club procedures.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid food safety certification.
- Knowledge of basic culinary fundamentals and food safety practices.
- Ability to supervise and motivate a team of young workers.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a hot, humid, and noisy environment.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- $18.00 per hour plus tips.
- Biweekly pay with 4% vacation pay.
- 30% staff discount on food & beverage services at the club (excluding alcohol).
- Access to club grounds and facilities.
- Provided with staff shirts to be worn while on duty.
- A vulnerable sector and background check are required. The Waegwoltic Club will cover the cost of these checks during the onboarding process.
