What does a Security Guard at Canada Post do?
Be part of a collaborative and proactive team that is required to work 24/7/365
Provide exceptional customer service over the phone, email, or in person
Alarm monitoring for intrusion, robbery, or other
Remote level 1 troubleshoots for alarms or access control issues, escalate when required
Dispatch of personnel and escalate if required
Access control with voice communication to certain facilities across the country
Performs active monitoring of various security systems, including CCTV and access control
First-line response for telephone calls, emails, or walk-ins from various stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies, federal/provincial/municipal investigative bodies, and all internal Canada Post lines of business
Performs accurate data entry in a timely manner, including creating cases that require escalation
Performs intake, triage, and escalation of events/incidents reported to the Security Operations Centre
Monitor media via monitor screens that are sensitive or involve Canada Post
Qualifications
A valid security guard license and first aid card
Must be bilingual ( English and French )
Available to work overnights
Must be bilingual
Able and willing to obtain a Secret Level Clearance from the Government of Canada
Must have good computer knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office Systems, Loss Prevention software, and Alarm Monitoring systems
Experience with Security Systems such as Genetec is considered an asset
Good leadership skills and critical incident-solving and problem-solving skills
Must be able to work with little to no supervision
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work under pressure (emergency situations)
Great customer service skills
Must be a team member and show initiative
Good presentation and interpersonal skills
Must have a good attendance record
First Aid, CPR & AED certified.
Have a clear criminal background
Willing to go through the security clearance.
