Camp Manager

North York, ON, CA, Canada

Job Description

COMPANY OVERVIEW

Seal Camps is the seasonal camp division of Seal Swimming, a community-focused leader in Ontario's aquatics industry. Built on the same standards families know from our swim programs, Seal Camps brings our water-safety-first mindset and child-centred coaching approach into full-day camp experiences.

At Seal Swimming, we believe swimming helps build strong bodies, healthy minds, confidence, and social skills - and that water safety is a life skill every child deserves. Seal Camps extends that mission beyond lessons by creating fun, structured camp days where kids stay active, make friends, and grow their independence in a safe, supportive environment.

Our camp team is made up of energetic, responsible leaders who care about doing things the right way: clear routines, great communication with families, and a culture that puts safety, inclusion, and positive leadership at the centre of everything. If you want to help deliver a camp experience parents trust and kids talk about all year, you'll fit in well here.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Camp Manager is the on-site lead for Seal Camps' March Break and Summer Camps program, responsible for making sure each day runs safely, smoothly, and on schedule. You'll oversee daily camp operations, supervise and support camp staff, uphold strong safety practices for all campers, and ensure the program experience is consistently high-quality and well-organized. You'll also serve as the primary point of contact on-site - communicating clearly and professionally with parents/guardians, Seal Camps management, and Facility staff to keep everyone aligned and confident in how each day is running.

REPONSIBILITIES

Lead the planning and preparation of all camp activities, including hiring, training and onboarding of all camp staff, including Camp Coordinators, Team Leaders, and Leaders-in-Training (LITs). Lead and supervise all camp staff, including Camp Coordinators, Team Leaders, and LITs, ensuring clear expectations, supportive coaching, and consistent performance. Establish partnerships with camp stakeholders and licensors for speciality camp activities. Prepare camp curriculum, advertisements, activities, schedules and agendas. Maintain a safe camp environment by strictly enforcing safety protocols, emergency procedures, and required child-to-staff ratios at all times. Oversee daily camper attendance processes (check-in/check-out), confirm authorized pickups, and ensure accurate record-keeping. Manage camper behaviour using positive, age-appropriate strategies; intervene early, document incidents, and escalate concerns appropriately. Facilitate daily staff briefings and end-of-day debriefings to review schedules, assign roles, flag risks, and improve program delivery. Coordinate smooth activity transitions, including group movement, headcounts, washroom breaks, meal/snack times, and end-of-day dismissal. Serve as the on-site point of contact for parents/guardians--sharing updates, responding to questions, and communicating promptly about any concerns or incidents. Liaise professionally with facility staff and Seal Camps management to ensure alignment with site procedures, space use, and daily operations. Support program planning and execution by helping organize materials, adapting activities as needed, and ensuring camp days are engaging, educational, and fun. Ensure incident, accident, and medication documentation is completed accurately and on time, with appropriate follow-up communication. Maintain an organized camp hub: supervise equipment use, manage supplies, and keep activity areas clean, safe, and ready for use.
