Camp Leader - Inclusion Support (Summer Camp) - Seasonal
LOCATION: City Centre Park located at 1089 Langford Parkway, Victoria BC.
REPORTS TO: Service Manager
POSITION TYPE: Full-time (seasonal) from June 7th - August 29th, 2025. Possibility for some part-time work(training, orientation, etc.) prior to the 7th.
GENERAL OVERVIEW

Camp Leader - Inclusion Support
to join our seasonal summer camp programming team. This position will function as a Camp Leader, but their primary focus will be providing inclusion support for the camp, as a whole. Under the direction of the
Service Manager
, Camp Leaders will play a vital role in delivering an engaging, fun, and safe summer camp experience for all participants at
City Centre Park
. This position requires strong leadership skills, a passion for working with children, and a commitment to maintaining high safety and operational standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Participant Support & Inclusion:
Provide assistance to participants with diverse needs, ensuring full inclusion in all camp activities.
Develop and implement strategies to promote a welcoming and accessible environment for all campers.
Actively identify and address barriers to participation, adapting programming as needed to meet individual needs.
Program Leadership & Implementation:
Lead and facilitate a variety of structured and engaging summer camp activities, including sports, arts, outdoor adventures, and team-building exercises.
Foster an inclusive and positive environment where campers feel encouraged to participate and build confidence.
Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of daily schedules, ensuring all activities run smoothly.
Participant Supervision & Safety Compliance:
Supervise campers during activities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and positive engagement.
Maintain a strong awareness of campers' needs, addressing concerns with sensitivity and professionalism.
Uphold and enforce all safety procedures, protocols, and emergency response measures.
Ensure equipment, facilities, and materials are used appropriately and safely.
Team Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with fellow Camp Leaders and the Service Manager to ensure seamless program delivery.
Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding camper experiences, concerns, and feedback.
Additional Responsibilities:
Assist with camp setup, cleanup, and supply organization.
Oversee participant drop-off/pick-up.
Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
Ensure compliance with all organizational standards and expectations.
Contribute to an unforgettable summer experience for participants.
REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES
Standard First-Aid Certification
(must be obtained before the start date).
Criminal Record Check
(required prior to employment).
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education is considered a strong asset, as is a background in teaching.
Age Requirement:
Must be 18 years or older by January 1, 2025.
Experience:
Previous leadership experience is preferred, along with experience in inclusion support, which will be considered a strong asset.
