The Opportunity:
As Camp Facility Maintenance, you will be accountable for carrying out upkeep duties for Camp Glenn Carpenter, including housekeeping, minor repairs, lawn and trail maintenance, and landscaping.
As a Canada Summer Jobs grant, the ideal candidate should meet the eligibility criteria for Canada Summer Jobs Funding which includes: being between the age of 15\xe2\x80\x9330 and have reliable transportation.
Responsibilities:

  • Completing scheduled preventative maintenance inspections.
  • Performing cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping etc.
  • Cleaning facilities and program space.
  • Gathering and emptying garbage from all areas of the camp including buildings
  • Performing minor repairs and painting, as required.
  • Mowing lawns and other yeard/garden upkeep.
  • Completing equipment checks to ensure proper function and safe operation.
  • Ensuring that all areas are clean, safe and well organized.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including rigorous activity; grasping, writing, pushing, pulling, standing for long periods, walking, bending, stretching, repetitive motions, hearing, visual acuity, and may on occasion have to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
  • Experience with painting is considered an asset.
  • Cleaning experience in a commercial establishments.
  • WHMIS training is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED is considered an asset.
  • Candidates would also need to have reliable transportation

Required:
  • Candidates are required to provide full proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or a valid medical certificate exempting them from the vaccine.
  • Employment is contingent on having a clean Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
