Job description We are looking for staff that have actively led large groups of kids ages 6-12 in a recreational setting for at least several hundred hours. Please apply only if you have this experience. We are seeking someone who has had leadership roles in other recreational camps for kids that wishes to make a positive impact in the community. The position will include, but is not limited to: -Collaborating with the Camp Coordinator and Camp Director along with Admin, Camp Leaders, and Volunteers -Helping to train and mentor staff and volunteers in an engaging way -Helping to supervise camp to ensure everyone\'s safety and engagement -Ensuring everyone\'s safety in and around the water. We swim almost every day at lakes and pools. -Developing a safe, inclusive, and fun community for all -Anticipating potential challenges and de-escalating and resolving them Full time- 35-40 hours per week from June 29-Sept. 1 and an additional day before that. The position will be outdoors guiding camps. It is suited for someone with extensive experience and training who will act as a lead guide at one of our camps. We are looking for a calm and collaborative leader. As this job is funded by Canada Summer Jobs, staff need to be between 18-30 years old and Canadian citizens or Permanent residents. Summer camp guides lead either the kids camp (ages 6-9) or youth camp (ages 10-12) at our Tri-Cities North Camps (White Pine Beach, Rocky Point, Eagleridge Pool, the Coquitlam Aquatic Complex, Poirier Pool, Crash Crawly\'s (if heavy rain is forecast), and more) or Tri-Cities West and Beyond Camps (out-trips that we meet at include Rocky Point, Barnet Beach, Westhill Park, Hume Park, Blue Mountain Park, Crash Crawly\'s (if heavy rain is forecast), Poirier Pool, and more. A reliable car is recommended. Hours are between 8 am - 6 pm Monday-Friday. This is a very active role that actively participates in all activities. We appreciate all applicants. These camps are outdoors in and around the Tri-cities exploring some of the most beautiful forests, lakes, beaches, and rivers in the area.
