As a Camp Counsellor, you will be responsible, along with up to 5 other Junior & Camp Counsellors, for the direct supervision of up to 15 campers. You will be placed in an age group before Camp starts, and you may have the opportunity to work in different groups throughout the summer. As a team you are responsible for the planning and implementation of inclusive, engaging, and fun programming. Camp Counsellors are responsible for ensuring campers needs are met and have a fun and fulfilling camp experience. This position directly reports to the
Senior Counsellor
for the respective age group.
Responsible for the direct care and supervision of campers within a ratio of 1:3 - 1:4
Effectively plan and implement program activities, and ensure they are planned with the highest standard of quality and safety; this will include but is not limited to; age appropriate, variety of activities, adaptable to different abilities,
Providing the highest standard of personal care and support to campers
Effectively support campers with additional behavioural needs
Professionally and consistently communicate with parents/guardians, support workers, and family members.
Follow up with the appropriate supervisors in the event of any emergency situations

Must be able to provide proof of current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification, prior to the start date.
Overview of Working Hours:
This role is expected to work a minimum of 40 hours a week, but may vary based on organizational needs
Working hours will primarily occur between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, but some work may occur in the evenings and weekends. This may include Camp Clean-Up and Staff Meetings
Camp Bonaventure runs from June 30, 2025 - August 22, 2025, excluding Statutory Holidays
This is a contract position from July 14 to August 23rd, 2025
Experience
Previous experience working with children is preferred; this can include roles such as tutoring or teaching.
A background in Early Childhood Education is highly desirable but not mandatory.
Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and inspire young minds.
A passion for outdoor activities, teamwork, and community building is essential.
