RESPONSIBILITIES:



Reporting directly to the VP of Advanced Manufacturing Operations, WOLF is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Technician with deep expertise in CNC programming, machine operation & maintenance, and tooling design. This role combines hands-on technical execution with engineering insight, requiring proficiency in SolidWorks for tooling design.

The successful candidate will:

Program and operate CNC machinery with precision and efficiency Work to tight tolerances ensuring accuracy and repeatability in machining processes Apply expert knowledge in design for manufacturability (DFM) to optimize tooling and component fabrication Utilize a strong knowledge base in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to interpret and apply engineering drawings correctly Contribute to tooling design, modification, and optimization Support process improvements to enhance manufacturing productivity and quality Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to drive continuous improvement
Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality output are essential. Experience in electro-mechanical systems and electronics packaging with integrated printed circuit boards will be considered a significant asset.

Job Duties



Program and operate CNC machinery (eg. 3 Axis CNC Vertical Mill, EDM/Hybrid EDM, Lathes, Laser cutting etc) to produce components with precision and accuracy to tight tolerances Apply expertise in design for manufacturability (DFM) to optimize tooling and component fabrication processes Utilize SolidWorks to design, modify, and document tooling required for CNC machining and mechanical component production Document tooling designs, associated configuration management, and developed processes/standards to ensure consistency and traceability Validate tooling designs through testing and inspection to confirm functionality and compliance with specifications Interpret and apply engineering drawings using advanced knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) Set up tooling, fixtures, and workpieces to support efficient machining operations Perform in?process inspections and dimensional verification using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues, making adjustments to maintain production flow and quality standards Work closely with design engineering teams in rapid prototyping of mechanical parts and assemblies to support product development Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives Conduct routine machine maintenance to ensure reliability and performance Contribute to Lean manufacturing practices and efficiency improvements across operations Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and all applicable safety & quality standards Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment around machines and workstations Perform additional duties as assigned to support advanced manufacturing operations

Required Skills & Competencies



5+ years of CNC programming, machine operation, and tooling design Strong knowledge of SolidWorks for mechanical design, tooling development, and documentation Demonstrated ability to work to tight tolerances with precision and repeatability Expert knowledge in design for manufacturability (DFM) to optimize tooling and component fabrication Advanced understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) for interpreting and applying engineering drawings Experience documenting tooling designs, configuration management, and process/standard development Knowledge and experience in metrology measurement equipment, including conventional inspection instruments and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) is an asset Ability to validate tooling designs through inspection, testing, and performance verification Background in electro?mechanical systems and electronics packaging with integrated printed circuit boards considered a significant asset Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM equipment Strong problem?solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machining and tooling issues effectively Familiarity with Lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement methodologies Excellent collaboration skills to work closely with engineering and production teams, including rapid prototyping of mechanical parts and assemblies Commitment to maintaining compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and all applicable safety and quality standards Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Working Conditions



Ability to work on-site at our Aurora office on a full-time basis Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple projects and shifting priorities Strong aptitude for learning and adaptability when working with a wide range of technical tools and software
