As an Automotive Service Worker, your primary duties include:Pick up and deliver vehicles, equipment, parts, and items to and from Calgary Police Service worksites and external vendors, as required. Add fuel, check, and correct tire air pressure and changing tires. Complete Vehicle Trouble Reports when problems are identified. Strip decommissioned police vehicles including the removal of equipment and decals. Assist the set-up technicians as required. Ensure the Fleet parking lot is kept in an orderly fashion and relocate vehicles within the lots.

Working Conditions:

Working with cleaning materials and chemical sprays and subjected to some biohazards when cleaning vehicles.




Qualifications

A High School Diploma or equivalency (e.g. GED). Basic computer skills (e.g. MS Outlook for E-mail) and basic data entry for work orders is required. Success Success in this position requires excellent communication, relationship building and coaching skills. The ability to prioritize, make effective decisions, optimize time and resources and provide excellent customer service.

Pre-employment Requirements

An enhanced security clearance will be conducted. Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. Education obtained from out of country must have or be able to obtain, an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) for confirmation of equivalent credentials. A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending.

Pre-employment Drug Test:

An offer of employment for this position will be conditional on an applicant passing a pre-employment drug test. This test assesses for use of drugs including cannabis. Failure to pass a pre-employment drug test may prevent an applicant from being hired into any safety sensitive position for a period of up to twelve months.
