Family Recovery Facilitator (Part-Time)
Location:
Primary location is in-person in the
SW of Calgary
and may also involve some virtual facilitation.

PEP Society
is seeking experienced group facilitators to co-lead our Family Recovery Groups - safe, non-therapeutic spaces where families connect, reflect, and strengthen their own
Recovery Capital
through guided discussion and peer support.
We use a
coach approach
, creating space for reflection, not giving advice or directing change. Our facilitators help participants explore their own next steps with clarity and care.
As a Family Recovery Facilitator, you will:
Co-facilitate meaningful, recovery-focused group sessions (weekly or bi-weekly, evenings), in person and/or on Zoom
Support families navigating the chaos and stress of addiction with compassion and presence
Foster safe, strengths-based environments rooted in hope, non-judgment, and shared understanding
Offer practical insights on topics like boundaries, communication, and family recovery in relatable, non-clinical language
Utilize a wide array of facilitation skills like open-ended questions, active listening, motivational interviewing, and appreciative inquiry.
Meet families experiencing crisis where they are at with sensitivity and compassion.
Adapt to diverse group dynamics and ensure all voices are heard
Collaborate with a supportive team and contribute to a growing, participant-centred program
Participate in team meetings every two months (evenings or Saturday mornings), and occasional training or project work
Who You Are:
Experienced:
5+ years of facilitation, coaching, and peer support; addiction/recovery experience is highly valued
Grounded in Recovery Values:
You understand Family Recovery and Recovery Capital, and support others without trying to fix them
Independent & Reliable:
Self-directed, organized, and able to manage energy and time effectively
Adaptable & Curious:
Comfortable in evolving programs and excited to help shape something meaningful
Relatable & Real:
Use warm, accessible language that meets people where they're at
Tech-Friendly:
Able to facilitate virtually using Zoom and Google tools
Additional Requirements:
Schedule:
Part-time evenings (weekly or bi-weekly). Some Saturday or evening team meetings (every 2 months).
Commitment:
Capacity to take on an ongoing evening role with occasional shift coverage and engage with team communications.

Experience:
