Overview

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Cake Decorator to join our bakery team. This role involves transforming freshly baked cakes into beautiful, custom-designed masterpieces that delight our customers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cake decorating, food presentation, and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced food industry environment. Prior experience in restaurant or bakery settings is preferred, along with a strong understanding of food safety and handling procedures.

Duties

Decorate cakes according to customer specifications, using various techniques and tools to create visually appealing designs Prepare cakes for display and sale, including packaging and presentation Assist with baking and food preparation tasks as needed to ensure timely production of baked goods Maintain cleanliness and organization of the decorating station and kitchen area Follow food safety protocols during all stages of cake decoration and handling Interact with customers to understand their decorating requests and provide recommendations when appropriate Ensure all baked goods meet quality standards before they are presented or sold Collaborate with team members to manage workload during busy periods and ensure smooth operation of the bakery

Requirements

Proven experience in cake decorating, baking, or food preparation within a restaurant or bakery environment Strong skills in cake decorating techniques, including piping, fondant work, and creative design implementation Knowledge of food handling, safety standards, and sanitation practices in the food industry Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor Basic kitchen experience including food safety procedures and packaging skills Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if required Prior experience in food industry roles such as baking or kitchen work is highly desirable
