What We're Looking For

You must have:
At least 1 year of food & beverage management experience (including scheduling, labour budgeting, inventory, ordering)
A genuine passion for customer service and relationship-building with regulars
Experience managing and motivating a diverse team with kindness, enthusiasm, and compassion
Some food preparation knowledge/experience
A valid driver's license
Flexibility -- cafes aren't 9-5! You're comfortable working weekends and early mornings
Interest in a long-term role with autonomy, ownership, and growth
Bonus points if you have:
Experience crafting specialty coffee beverages (semi-automatic espresso machine)
Previous quick service or cafe leadership experience
What You'll Do
------------------
As Cafe Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of daily cafe operations -- ensuring excellent guest experiences, smooth team coordination, and efficient business performance. You'll work closely with the owners and current manager during a 3-6 month transition period, with the goal of independently managing the cafe thereafter.
Responsibilities include:
Upholding standards:
Maintain quality and service consistency, ensure health & safety compliance
Leading the team:
Scheduling, delegating roles, assigning duties, onboarding, training, recognizing strong performance, and addressing issues with fairness and respect
Customer experience:
Greeting guests warmly, resolving complaints, and fostering a welcoming, community-focused environment
Labour management:
Building schedules that balance staff needs with labour targets, adjusting as necessary
Inventory & supplies:
Ordering, tracking stock, managing shortages, and completing accurate inventory counts
Maintenance & appearance:
Ensuring the cafe is clean, organized, and all equipment is properly maintained
Communication:
Keeping clear, open communication with owners, supervisors, and shift leads
