How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team:
The Cafe Attendant is responsible for assisting the Cafe Associate in running the kitchen operations at TRCA's Head Office location serving employees and stakeholders.
Major Responsibilities:
Assists in providing safe food service preparation and delivery for TRCA's Head Office employees and stakeholders
Assists with receiving food delivery and stocking of food and supply items in the Head Office Cafe
Assists with the safe preparation, and cooking of meals, according to pre-planned and on-demand order requests
Assists with meal planning and inventory management
Prepares and serves meals in accordance with legislative health and safety requirements for food handling
Ensures workstation is kept clean and sanitized, while monitoring general cafeteria cleanliness
Assists in clean-up, including dish washing, garbage removal, recycling and composting, and grease removal at the end of each shift
Handles cash and operates cash register
1+ years of experience in food preparation and service
Previous experience working with customers
Cash handling experience
Knowledge/Skill/Ability - Competencies
Basic understanding of hygiene, sanitation and kitchen equipment
Experience preparing large/batch quantities of food
Understanding and application of basic mathematical functions (e.g., adding, subtracting, measuring, money computation)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Excellent time management and organizational skills
