Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and motivated
Cafe Supervisor
to lead the daily operations of our new cafe concept in Vancouver. The Supervisor will oversee staff, ensure smooth service, maintain quality standards, and deliver an exceptional guest experience. This role involves hands-on support with barista duties, staff training, scheduling, and maintaining compliance with health and safety standards. The ideal candidate is a natural leader with strong organizational skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to create a welcoming environment for both guests and team members.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily cafe operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Supervise, train, and support baristas and service staff, fostering a positive team environment.
Manage staff schedules, shifts, and break times to maintain proper coverage.
Ensure all beverages and food items are prepared to quality and consistency standards.
Handle customer concerns and resolve issues promptly with professionalism.
Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and manage stock rotation.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety standards.
Support cash handling, POS operations, and daily sales reconciliations.
Assist in menu development, promotions, and implementing new ideas to enhance the guest experience.
Act as the point of contact between management and staff, ensuring communication is clear and consistent.
Qualifications
Proven experience in restaurant management or a similar role.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Proficiency in POS systems; experience with Micros POS is a plus.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
