We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Cafe Manager to lead our team in delivering exceptional customer service and high-quality food offerings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service management, with a passion for hospitality and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality. As the Cafe Manager, you will oversee daily operations, manage staff, and ensure a welcoming environment for our guests.
Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Manage day-to-day restaurant operations.
- Ensure excellent customer service and guest satisfaction.
- Supervise and perform all operations. This includes working shifts, when needed.
- Implement and enforce company policies.
Staff Management
- Recruit, hire, train, and schedule staff.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and disciplinary action when necessary.
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance evaluations.
- Foster a positive and productive workplace culture.
Vendor & Compliance Management
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and labor regulations.
- Oversee ordering, inventory, and quality control.
Communication & Reporting
- Serve as the primary point of contact between ownership and staff.
- Provide weekly/monthly operational reports to ownership.
- Escalate major issues or capital requests to ownership for approval.
Requirements
Proven experience in restaurant management or cafe operations.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills.
Familiarity with POS systems such as Square and Fresh KDS is preferred.
Experience in inventory control and cash handling procedures.
Background in cafe environments is advantageous.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and staff alike.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
Experience in budgeting, financial management, and cost control within a cafe or restaurant setting.
