Hiring Unit:

The Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Institute



Position Summary:Acts as a liaison between the unit and internal or external parties to provide various assistance or information. Produces promotional material such as flyers, posters, videos and newsletters for use in reports, workshops and info sessions. Translates documents into various languages (i.e. French to English). Acts as a resource person to resolve issues that may arise during various events and scheduling. Conducts research regarding alumni, marketing and news trends. Assists in producing promotional material and providing specific information to queries; Performs specific editing and reviewing of documents, audio, video and web maintenance as required. Some graphic design and photo editing may be required; Monitors and posts social media content to various platforms such as Twitter and Facebook. Develop, draft, edits and translate scientific content for the purposes of meeting the needs of the GCI communications strategy; Solicit, review and integrate social content from the Goodman Cancer Institute's social media stakeholders; Optimize the accuracy, design and accessibility of content for the Goodman Cancer Institute social platforms and as needed verify content for McGill University and the GCI Advisory Board related to GCI initiatives; Implement the GCI social media communications plan and schedule, meeting timelines and executing deliverables; Receive and transfer documents for display on social media, work with internal departments to respond to business needs; Assist in creation of new content including presentations, videos, photos, podcasts and other interactive pieces for the web and social media; Verify that all media created as part of this position conforms to McGill University standards and aligns with GCI brand positioning and strategic messaging; Perform other duties directly related to this position as assigned. Prior experience working in Dr. Trina Johnson's unit is preferable. Active McGill Students with proof of enrollment letter covering the contract period will be considered for this position.
