The Opportunity:



WSP is currently seeking a

CAD Designer

to join our growing

Aviation team

. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and collaborative individual with experience in developing high-quality civil design drawings for airport infrastructure projects. You'll be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team supporting the design and delivery of airside and groundside projects across Canada and internationally.


The Aviation group at WSP provides a full spectrum of services including runway, taxiway, and apron design, stormwater and drainage design, airfield lighting layout, terminal area development, and airport master planning.

What you can expect to do here:



Prepare detailed CAD drawings and BIM models for airport infrastructure projects, including airside and landside facilities Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and other design team members to ensure drawings meet project goals and technical specifications Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, and AviPLAN to develop and review construction drawings, layout plans, aircraft movement simulations, and design visualizations Support site development planning and conceptual design tasks for airport expansion and rehabilitation projects Ensure all drawings and models are developed in accordance with relevant FAA, ICAO, and TP312 design standards and client-specific requirements Perform thorough quality control checks to maintain drawing accuracy, consistency, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle Assist in the preparation of design documentation, technical reports, and construction packages

What you'll bring to WSP:



Diploma or bachelor's degree in civil engineering technology, Architecture, or a related field Proven experience in CAD and BIM design, preferably in aviation, transportation, or large infrastructure projects Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and experience with Navisworks and AviPLAN Working knowledge of TP312 5th Edition, ICAO Annex 14, and FAA design regulations Understanding of airport site development and airfield design principles Ability to interpret engineering sketches and translate them into precise and accurate drawings Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary teams

Compensation:



Salary range (in British Columbia): $82,900 - $114,000


The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The salary range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
