Job Description

Our Telecommunications group is currently looking to add

Cable Installation Technicians

to our growing team, based in Winnipeg, MB and Sault St. Marie, ON.


Reporting to the Project Manager, these positions are responsible for the installation of fiber optic cable on aerial and underground telecommunications infrastructure. They perform fiber installation on wood poles and within underground duct systems, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities



Aerial Fiber Installation on wood poles, including Steel strand installation, Guy wires and anchors, Cable lashing and related hardware Operate bucket trucks and perform pole climbing when required Read and interpret construction drawings and work plans Ensure proper tensioning, clearance, and alignment of aerial fiber infrastructure Underground Fiber Installation in underground duct systems Operate cable jetting equipment and capstans Prepare ducts, install innerduct, and pull or jet fiber cable as required Maintain cable integrity and ensure proper placement and protection Conduct job hazard assessments and participate in safety meetings Identify and report hazards, deficiencies, or damaged infrastructure

Requirements



High School Diploma or equivalent Previous experience as a Telecommunications Cable Installer Experience with aerial fiber installation on wood poles Experience with underground fiber installation using jetters and capstans Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor environments Valid driver's license and ability to provide a satisfactory Drivers Abstract

This position offers an hourly rate of

$26 - $35

, depending on experience and qualifications.
