We are seeking a Cabinet Assembler to join our production team. The ideal candidate will bring steady hands, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow within a collaborative shop environment.
THE ROLE:
As a Cabinet Assembler at AWDS, you will contribute directly to the fabrication of our custom cabinetry, ensuring each unit is assembled with care and accuracy. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will work closely with the shop team to bring detailed technical drawings into completed assemblies, supporting the overall production workflow.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, AND NOT LIMITED TO:
Assemble cabinet boxes, drawers, face frames, and millwork components according to shop drawings.
Review cut materials for accuracy and completeness before beginning assembly.
Use common woodworking tools--including drills, staplers, nailers, and clamps--to complete assemblies safely and efficiently.
Install standard hardware such as hinges and slides with proper alignment.
Inspect finished assemblies for quality, ensuring clean lines, proper fitment, and consistent workmanship.
Make minor adjustments or corrections during assembly as required.
Maintain an organized workspace and follow all shop safety procedures.
Support workflow between departments, collaborating with CNC operators, finishers, and installers.
Assist with packaging and preparing items for delivery when needed.
Perform general labour duties as required, including routine factory clean-up, organizing materials, and supporting overall shop maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in cabinetry assembly, millwork, or related woodworking is an asset.
Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings and measurements.
Familiarity with common woodworking tools and their safe operation.
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing clean, accurate work.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt within a busy production environment.
Willingness to learn and work collaboratively as part of a team.
Good organizational habits and reliability in meeting production timelines.
