Let\xe2\x80\x99s help you launch your career with BVR! We are looking for a new team member to join our team on-site in our Calgary as a Production Assistant (EVENING SHIFT - 2:30-11:00pm). Note - to be considered for this opportunity, candidates MUST be legally entitled to work in Canada and MUST reside in the greater Calgary metropolitan area. *THE ROLE* Reporting to the lead Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) on duty and working as part of a dedicated team, the Production Assistant assists in the compounding and packaging of veterinary pharmaceutical products. *DAY-TO-DAY* - Assist in compounding, packaging, labelling, weighing, filling, capping and stacking of products following strict quality processes
- Adhere to all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP\xe2\x80\x99s), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and BVR work instructions
- Complete all required paperwork including logbooks, work orders and other required documents
- Follow all company policies as described in the Employee Handbook
- Follow all safety procedures, and assist in maintaining a safe workspace
- Maintains a clean working area
- Some heavy lifting and repetitive movements
- Ability to safely and responsibly work with hazardous chemicals in controlled environment
- Other related duties as required *IDEAL FIT* Education & Experience - Post secondary with a background in Science OR experience as a Pharmacy Technician/Assistant or Veterinary Technician/Assistant, OR equivalent combination of high school education and experience
- Basic chemistry knowledge would be considered an asset
- Previous experience with sterile products will be considered an asset
- Experience working in the medical or veterinary industry Skills and Attributes - Great interpersonal and communication skills (high functioning level of English required)
- Reliable, punctual and thrives as part of a busy team
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on lab cleanliness and sterility
- Comfortable with multi-tasking and adaptable to changing priorities
- Highly organized and able to multi-task effectively to prioritize tasks and meet daily deadlines
- Pro-active in taking on daily tasks which may be repetitive
- Confident in being able to work with the team to think through problems and troubleshoot for a positive outcome
- Rigorously applies and follows rules, regulatory requirements, procedures and processes
- Able to work both independently with minimal oversight and collaboratively as an integral part of the team
- Consistently demonstrates initiative and willingness to go above and beyond
- Able to remain calm under pressure
- Enthusiastic and passionate, and takes pride in work accomplishments
