CPC Pumps International Inc. is a part of the Atlas Copco Group, a world-leading industrial group present in more than 180 countries, over the span of approximately 150 years. It is a company that serves customers with innovative compressor, vacuum, power, and industrial technologies. CPC Pumps specializes in designing, manufacturing, testing, and servicing of engineered heavy duty process centrifugal pumps (fully API 610 Compliant) for the CCUS, Green Energy / Circular Economy, H2, LNG, Chem-Petrochem and power-generating industry since 1957.
Purpose

The Buyer will research, evaluate, and purchase the products and decide which retailer is best suited to meet their needs.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Tender, negotiate, and purchase supplies and services (machining, fabrication, calibration), equipment, raw material for inventory and non-stock items, as per QA requirements and engineering and customer specifications
  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure all have supporting documentation
  • Preliminary sourcing of materials and pricing of sales to fulfill bid opportunities
  • Review purchasing orders and communicate any discrepancies/issues with vendors
  • Confirm that communication is properly sent to vendor and meets expected shipping deadlines
  • Expedite and resolve any errors on purchase orders and invoices
  • Investigate and determine how material came through incorrect or damaged (for non-conformance)
  • Track price increases and communicate and negotiate cost changes and recovery as needed
  • Assist other teams and departments as necessary to ensure smooth order execution
  • Maintain all purchase orders and assist in inventory count
  • Work with Aftermarket sales representative to process purchases
  • Use cost saving strategies to generate savings
  • Maintain supplier relationships
  • Special projects as assigned by Manager

What we expect of you?

Qualification Requirements

  • Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented, organizational, results oriented, problem solving, and decision-making skills, with a strong mechanical aptitude
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of casting processes is an asset
  • Ability to read blueprints is an asset
  • AccPac application or similar experience is an asset

Education and/or Experience

  • Involvement in PMAC
  • Knowledge in ASME, ASTM, and API Standards
  • 5-10 years of purchasing experience (with pumps) in a manufacturing environment is preferred

  • Office environment involves sedentary work with repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where problems occur and volumes are heavy

Work Environment

  • Occasional travel includes visits to suppliers
