Get big name experience on your resume! Our multinational auto manufacturing client in Alliston is continuing to grow their Buying team! Kelly is pleased to be supporting in their requirement for 5 Buyer/Purchasers to join their Supply Chain group in supporting new model part orders. We are seeking those with completed supply chain education and related school co-op or work experience within supply chain. US visa is a must have, as immediate travel is required.

Schedule: Monday-Friday daytime, 1-2 days remote, remainder of time working on-site in Alliston. Potential for over-time; requirement to work an afternoon shift during peak times

Pay rate: $32.26/hour + 4% vacation pay

Contract length: review date end of March, 2023 (opportunity for extension to longer term!)

As a New Model Buyer you will be responsible for the order and delivery management of new model event/exceptional part orders. Upon receiving your supply base, you will be required to negotiate the best delivery timing and part cost for trial events, as well as tool led times in addition to tracking the progress to ensure that event targets are achieved. You will need to manage design changes and assess compensation requests for accuracy to ensure cost effectiveness. Ensuring that suppliers are ready for Mass Pro is of upmost importance, in addition to tracking any open issues to closure. As a purchasing team member, you will be required to support Supply Chain in a 2nd shift rotation throughout the year when required (approx 3-4 weeks per year).

Responsibilities:

  • Order and delivery management of new model event /exceptional part orders
  • Analyze, negotiate tool lead times, and track progress to ensure event targets are achieved
  • Design change management and design change compensation request assessment
  • Bill of Material maturation
  • Negotiation with suppliers to ensure best delivery timing and part cost for trial events
  • Assess supplier Mass Production readiness and track open issues to closure
  • Support Supply Chain Dept. (Mass Production) 2nd shift rotation
  • Position may require travel to our client's US offices
Requirements:
  • University degree or College diploma in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business, or a related post-secondary education, or equivalent experience
  • Eligible to travel to the USA
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Must be skilled in the art of negotiation and requires excellent organizational skills with ability to work effectively with all levels of associates and suppliers
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills - including Excel (Create, modify, and format charts; filter and manage data; use mathematical, logical, statistical, and financial functions; work between multiple worksheets; manipulate databases; use graphic objects to enhance worksheets and charts)
  • Negotiation experience with suppliers
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of tooling and equipment manufacturing
  • Knowledge of part manufacturing processes
  • Proven ability to participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Availability and willingness to work over-time or afternoon shift if required
