Overview

This is a casual position possibly sombody looking to make some extra money a few time a a year so our head butcher can go camping:)
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Butcher to join our team in a fast-paced food industry environment. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in meat cutting and food handling, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety. As a Butcher, you will play a crucial role in preparing and presenting various meat products while providing excellent customer service.

Duties

Perform meat cutting and preparation tasks, including but not limited to slicing, dicing, and grinding various types of meat. Ensure all meat products are prepared according to food safety standards and regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the butcher area, adhering to health and safety guidelines. Package meat products for display or sale, ensuring proper labeling and storage techniques are followed. Assist customers with their inquiries, providing knowledgeable recommendations on meat selection and preparation methods. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of high-quality meat products for various dishes. Monitor inventory levels of meat products and communicate needs for restocking to management.

Requirements

Proven experience in meat cutting or as a butcher in a food industry setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Familiarity with kitchen operations and food preparation techniques is advantageous. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items as required. A passion for quality food products and commitment to maintaining high standards in all aspects of work.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $16.18-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 25 per week
