OverviewIDC\xe2\x80\x99s Business Value Strategy practice focuses on custom research that provides financial justification for vendors\xe2\x80\x99 IT solutions and helps them transform their sales focus from product features to customer value. The Business Value Interviewer will be responsible for conducting in-depth interviews with end user organizations of client technologies and solutions that provide the foundation for IDC Business Value Strategy projects. Carrying out these interviews will require preparing for interviews by understanding the sponsoring vendor\'s solution(s), conducting the interview via Zoom or other similar conferencing platform, transcription review, data entry, and conducting any necessary follow up with the interviewee(s).The Business Value Interviewer must have a strong ability to obtain necessary data and information from virtual interviews based on in-depth interview guides with executives and managers who work at organizations using the vendor solution(s) covered by IDC research. They will have the strong ability to make interviewees feel comfortable discussing the impact of using the vendor solution(s) with them as well as the ability to adapt on the fly to ask follow-up questions and to probe on areas of interest, but while maintaining the integrity of the framework of the in-depth interview guide. The Business Value Interviewer must be able to obtain strong quantitative and qualitative data from interviews and be comfortable pushing interviewed executives and managers to the right extent to obtain the maximum possible information, while ensuring a good interview experience and reflecting well on IDC and the sponsoring vendor.IDC\xe2\x80\x99s usual business hours are 9 am \xe2\x80\x93 5 pm ET, however, interviews must be scheduled at times of convenience for executives and managers.   • Understand the Business Value Strategy team and their methodology; the role of in-depth interviews in completing projects, and project execution
  • Serve as the Business Value Strategy team\'s primary interviewer, typically completing between 4-6 interviews per week, including preparation, transcription, data entry, and quality assurance
  • Communicate with interviewees on scheduling and other matters, and working with IDC third-party partners to schedule and complete interviews
  • Work closely with the Business Value Strategy group to discuss interview outcomes and challenges and provide actionable data and insights from interviews
  • Participate in client solution briefings and results presentation to prepare for interviews and understand how interviews are used for Business Value projects
  • Follow up with interviewees to assure the best quality data
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of consulting experience
  • Experience with enterprise-type technologies typically covered in Business Value interviews and ability to discuss impact of technology with managers and executives preferred
  • Ability to think dynamically and ask questions / probe based on an interviewee\'s responses
  • Ability to work independently and maintain motivation independently, while also working closely with other Business Value team members
  • Strong time management skills
  • Enjoy the process of speaking and interacting with others and feel comfortable in doing so, including executives and managers
