Nickel concentrate from the fly-in, fly-out Voiseys Bay operation is shipped to our state-of-art Long Harbour Processing Plant where it is refined into low-carbon and high-purity nickel rounds, cobalt rounds and copper cathodes.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Senior Engineer, Project & Business Support to join our Operational Services Department in St. Johns, NL. This permanent position will be on a Monday to Friday schedule working at the St. Johns Corporate Office in St. Johns, NL.The purpose of this role is to support the VNL Operational Services team with their goals and objectives by supporting the implementation of a wide variety of projects and business processes (including Vale Production System and Continuous Improvement activities).Additionally, in this position you will:

• Manage projects within the Operational Services Department aimed at improving the business. This can include decarbonization initiatives, logistics, facility upgrades and transportation infrastructure.
• Review existing processes to identify areas for improvement.
• Participate with Business Analyst in defining plant business value drivers and budgets.
• Develop business cases to support improvement projects.
• Work closely with the (Engineering Teams) to develop robust scopes of work that meet the capital project criteria.
• Work closely with the VNL Site Services teams to improve civil infrastructure in Long Harbour and Voiseys Bay.
• Liaise with other departments as required to help plant management decisions on short and long term objectives.

About YouEducation:

• Bachelor of Engineering in a related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is required.

Experience:

• 5+ years of relevant experience with project management.

Skills:

• Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
• Values and builds strong working relationships with peers and team members.
• Superb presentation skills.
• Solid interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Proven time management and multi-tasking skills.
