As a Business Strategist with Calgary Housing (CH), you will play a key role in advancing Calgary Housing's strategic and operational objectives by supporting high-priority initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness, housing outcomes, and resident experience.


Reporting to the Leader, Engagement & Special Projects, you will advance divisional strategy, performance measurement, and special projects that drive innovation and improve service delivery. Acting as a bridge between policy, planning, data, and implementation, you will translate strategic goals into actionable insights and foster collaboration across teams. You will contribute to business planning, analytics, and research while supporting culture-building and change initiatives aligned with Calgary Housing's vision - that every resident has an opportunity to thrive. Primary duties include:

Lead and support divisional business planning, strategic alignment, and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tracking. Conduct research, environmental scans, and data analysis to inform decisions. Design and manage performance dashboards and reporting tools. Coordinate and deliver special projects that strengthen programs, systems, and resident outcomes. Identify and implement improvements using data, insights, and best practices. Support change management and engagement activities to build organizational readiness. Develop clear, compelling reports and communications for senior leadership and interested parties.


Qualifications

A degree in Business, Public Administration, Planning, Architecture or a related field and at least 5 years of related experience in supporting senior leadership in strategic planning, performance measurement, policy, or service improvement within a large organization. Experience in housing, social policy or human services is preferred. Proficiency with business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau and data visualization tools. Project Management Professional (PMP), PROSCI or Data Analytics certification will be considered an asset. Proven ability to use data and evidence to shape strategy and communicate impact. Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, facilitation, and collaboration abilities.

Workstyle:

This position may be eligible to work from home as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. Such arrangements are based on the operational requirements of the position and employee suitability and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

Compensation: Pay Grade 12 $47.01 - 62.84 per hour
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
