Dakota Ojibway Community Futures Development Corporation (DOCFDC) is seeking a dynamic, community-minded
Business Services Officer (BSO)
for a
term position funded through March 2029, subject to annual contract renewal,
to lead delivery of the
Indigenous Youth Entrepreneurship (IYE) Program
, while also assisting with managing the
financial oversight of our loan fund portfolio
.
Reporting to the General Manager, the BSO-IYE will:
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored support to Indigenous Youth Entrepreneurs (IYEs), including business planning, coaching, workshops, and access to financing.
Deliver outreach, training, and mentorship in DOCFDC's nine First Nations communities.
Administer the IYE micro-loan fund and other loan products, including maintaining accurate financial records and loan portfolio management.
Review loan applications, conduct due diligence, and manage a portfolio of loan clients.
Support collections and recommend loan adjustments as needed.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
Minimum 3 years of experience in lending, banking, or financial services.
Strong financial analysis, accounting, and loan reconciliation skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Knowledge of Indigenous communities and a passion for youth empowerment.
Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel.
Assets
Experience working with Indigenous youth or in economic development.
Familiarity with NACCA or Community Futures lending programs.
Entrepreneurial or small business background.
Salary:
Commensurate with experience. Includes benefits and travel allowance.
