Job Summary


This position functions as strategic liaison between assigned business units and Information technology for the purpose of relationship development, strategy development, identification of potential solutions for business problems, establishing project priorities and recommending strategies for implementation.

Duties & Responsibilities


Establishes and maintains strategic relationships with the business units to determine and ensure their technology related business needs are met. Coordinates the exchange of information between business units, and IT in regards to technology initiatives. Articulates the business strategies and priorities to IT to ensure that IT services, strategic planning and Enterprise Architecture are in alignment with those needs. Provides advice and consultation regarding gathering business requirements and preparing divisional business plans in relationship to their technology needs, project prioritisation and the maintenance of the Corporate Long-Range Systems Plan. Maintains strong working relationships with supporting services and contributes to the ongoing development of the Business Relationship Management standards, metrics and strategies. Manages assigned staff; hires, assigns work schedules, assesses staffing needs, identifies and pursues other resources if necessary and performs layoff and recall. Plans and approves staff development. Conducts performance management and, when required disciplinary action. Conducts feasibility studies and recommends alternatives; identifies key stakeholders; identifies system requirements for implementation; develops a statement-of-requirements document. Supports the lifecycle of a project including developing business case; initiates, plans and controls project, and prepares forecast of short- and long-term projects. Plans and manages studies to identify productivity improvements through effective management techniques and tools. Obtains consensus on the priority of projects; recommends the resources to meet goals; and oversees the implementation of projects. Maintains current knowledge of technological advancements and IT services as they pertain to departmental and corporate requirements and looks for opportunities to standardize and consolidate services. Assists with planning and managing the maintenance and revision of Corporate Information Systems, including procedures and the use of new methods. Assists with the integration of data within the corporation. Performs other related duties.

Qualifications


Education, Training and Experience Requirements


University degree in computational science, commerce, business administration or related discipline. Seven to nine years of experience in information services, including three years' experience in requirements gathering and business case development.



Knowledge, Abilities and Skills


Thorough knowledge of Business Relationship Management theory including the application of that knowledge in a business setting. Thorough knowledge of the principles of organization, management and administration. Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative and to work independently. Ability to analyse diverse systems. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, including the ability to prepare and present presentations of a specialized nature. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to relate and maintain relationships with all levels of the organization and external contacts.

Weekly Hours:

36.67

Salary Range:

$100,002.72 to $114,966.48 CAD

per annum
