We are looking for a collaborative, interest-based People Excellence, Business Partner who aligns the People Excellence strategy with business goals. If you are someone who approaches a broad range of human resources functions with a consultative mindset to support the achievement of employee initiatives, business capabilities and results and will develop and implement talent management and employee experience programs designed to build and accelerate business performance, this will be a great opportunity for you.


NOTE: This is a contract to cover a maternity leave.

Accountabilities:



Act as a partner to align the People Excellence strategy with business goals to support growth, recommend and implement people engagement initiatives, and leverage market trends and intelligence to drive performance Work in partnership with Union leadership to address and resolve employee matters, lead investigations, manage the grievance process and make recommendations for resolution Lead consultative coaching conversations with leaders on enterprise-wide Training as a Service program to enhance business capabilities, identify potential talent and manage succession planning Deliver new hire orientation and onboarding experiences, including the ownership of 30, 60 90-day orientation plans, delivering new hire training new employee pre-boarding set up as required Facilitate the year-end performance review, compensation adjustment variable compensation and profit-sharing process Provide coaching on performance management related matters to assess and improve employees' effectiveness and development Participate in various initiatives (DE&I, CCBA PAIR) and event planning teams that contribute to employee experience and business outcomes

What you bring to the table:



Post-Secondary education degree/diploma in Human Resources or related field; or equivalent education and or experience Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or working towards CHRP or CHRL designation 5-7 years of progressive Human Resources experience as a business partner 3 years' experience with a focus on employee and labour relations, CBA administration, grievance resolution and investigations Experience with field and operations workforce in local and geographically remote markets Experience working in a matrix reporting relationship and subject matter experts in HR and corporate services Experience in a fee for service environment is an asset

Your Success Factors:



Advanced knowledge of employment legislation and leading workplace investigations, grievance arbitration, discipline and termination, progressive performance management, and attendance management Solid knowledge of People Excellence policies and procedures, employment legislation (ESA, Human Rights Code, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act) Exceptional collaboration and consultative skills that garner the ability to influence and build trusting relationships Service excellence approach and the ability to consistently demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and accountability Experience in implementation of HR programs and initiatives to provide HR planning and advice to achieve operational and workforce goals Self-directed learner, with the ability to exercise decision making and problem solving Flexibility and a tolerance for ambiguity in a constantly evolving organization Strong organizational, planning and project management skills
