Overview:
As a Business Partner in the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) group, your role will involve being an expert in finance, capable of delivering complex information and insights in a clear and concise manner to different audiences. You will provide valuable information to guide strategic business decisions across the organization, including at the Executive Level.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop strategic relationships with executives in your designated areas of responsibility, gaining in-depth knowledge of those areas. Provide deep insights into financial data that influence strategic decision-making and overall company performance through relevant financial analysis.
  • Collaborate with team members to collect and analyze relevant data, interpret the findings, and present key financial insights to business leaders. This enables informed decision-making by the management and lines of business.
  • Work collaboratively to review and enhance all core FP&A functions, including management reporting, annual budgeting, forecasting, and project analysis.
  • Supervise and collaborate on the development of financial models to ensure they meet the business requirements.
  • Oversee and contribute to the development of key performance financial indicators and analytics for business lines, products, and members. This includes conducting sensitivity analysis to help management understand the potential outcomes of various actions.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the product offerings within your designated line of business, as well as the associated financial levers.
  • Present results professionally and clearly, emphasizing key assumptions and potential risks. This supports and drives recommendations for business decisions.
  • Stay updated on advancements in analytical tools, techniques, and industry standards/best practices.
What you must have:
  • A university degree and a professional accounting designation (CPA) or finance designation (CFA), with at least 5-8 years of progressive experience in Finance.
  • Expert knowledge of line of business or support area operating models, with the ability to think strategically and facilitate discussions on business decisions.
  • Proven track record as a valued business partner to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information and tell a compelling story.
  • Persuasive communication skills to influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret and assess the value of data, and present findings clearly and concisely to relevant stakeholders, including the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
  • Proficiency in core financial systems and familiarity with process automation capabilities. Experience with financial modeling, analytics, and data visualization methodologies and tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Agility to adapt to a dynamic environment.
  • Leadership presence and the ability to build credibility across all levels within Finance and Technology groups.
  • Collaboration skills with a proven track record of driving change through team building and establishing trust.
  • Effective consensus-building, conflict resolution, and team-building skills. Serve as a role model and mentor for junior team members.
  • Prior experience in the financial institution industry is an asset.
