Your opportunity:

Working under the direction of the Manager, Operations & Special Projects (Graduate Programs), you will be responsible for the financial and administrative functions of the Operations Department for all 9 Graduate Programs at Rotman. By monitoring budgets, preparing several reports, and interacting frequently with the Financial Service Office, you will help to ensure the short and long-term financial health of the Graduate Programs. You will also provide personnel administrative support by collating and organizing data for various reports and rankings, maintaining records, liaising with service providers and acting as the first point of contact for general inquiries (invoices, expense
reimbursements, system and space access, general office procedures, etc.). Additionally, you will provide administrative support to the Graduate Programs as needed by monitoring calendars, coordinating meetings, liaising with staff and faculty and distributing information.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Forecasting, planning and monitoring multiple complex budgets
  • Analyzing financial trends and preparing analytical reports and forecasts for management decision making
  • Monitoring department budget to ensure expenditures remain within budgeted allocations
  • Applying the University Guide to Financial Management and other applicable policies, agency and regulatory requirements
  • Applying the generally accepted accounting principles to all financial tasks
  • Implementing plans and process improvements for financial administration activities
  • Acting as the point of contact for internal auditors
  • Implementing plans and process improvements for administrative workflow
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum four years of financial and administrative management experience, including experience with budget preparation and maintenance, forecasting and analysis, report generation and project management
  • Demonstrated experience planning and overseeing short- and long-range activities that support financial and administrative administration
  • Must have well-developed budgeting, financial and administrative management skills
  • Demonstrated experience dealing with statistical and/or financial reports
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), problem solving and organizational skills
  • High customer service orientation
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity, professionalism, sound judgement and tact and confidentialit
  • Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and SharePoint
Assets (Nonessential):
  • Experience in the Higher Education market is highly desirable
  • Computer skills with experience with Salesforce and Tableau an asset
