Position Overview

The Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee (OPGT) seeks a

Business Intelligence Specialist

to design and implement a new

data warehouse/lakehouse

on Microsoft Azure and deliver a

reporting MVP (minimum viable product)

. The successful candidate will play a key role in building the data architecture, developing Power BI reports, and integrating data from Dynamics 365 CE and F&O systems.

Responsibilities

As part of the data team, the Senior Software Developer will:

Analyze business requirements and design an efficient

data warehouse/lakehouse architecture

(bronze/silver/golden layers). Develop and automate

ETL processes

to load data from Dynamics 365 CE and F&O into the data warehouse. Build

logical and physical data models

to support reporting and analytics needs. Ensure robust

data security, governance, and quality

across all environments. Develop

Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations

aligned with the reporting MVP. Optimize data warehouse and reporting performance for scalability and efficiency. Document solutions, contribute to

knowledge transfer

, and collaborate using Azure DevOps tools. Comply with Ontario Government and OPGT I&IT directives, policies, and standards.

Mandatory Requirements

Power BI Expertise

- Proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling, building interactive reports/dashboards, configuring gateways, and using advanced features (e.g., DAX, Power Query).

Dynamics 365 Analytics Experience

- Demonstrated experience performing data analytics and developing reports using Dynamics 365 CE and/or F&O.

Data Warehouse/Lakehouse Knowledge

- Strong understanding of data warehousing principles, including data modeling, ETL processes, data integration, and data governance.

Nice-to-Have Requirements

Azure Cloud Certifications

(e.g., Azure Fundamentals, Power BI Data Analyst Associate) Experience with

Power Platform tools

(PowerApps, Power Automate) and Dynamics CE/F&O environments.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From $70.00 per hour
