:Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto\'s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.At Metrolinx, equity, diversity and inclusion are essential to living our values of serving with passion, thinking forward and playing as a team.Our Procurement - Analytics & Insights Team is looking for a Business Intelligence and Reporting Analyst to conduct financial and performance analysis in support of category strategies, cost savings, contract negotiations/analysis, and business metrics.What will I be doing?

  • Analyze, measure, and report on Procurement Services key performance indicators (KPIs), financial performance, and other key data and milestones
  • Build, develop and maintain relevant data models, reporting systems, automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics that support business decision-making
  • Analyze performance data to identify potential problems and LEAN opportunities
  • Amalgamate, process, analyze and extrapolate large amounts of complex data from multiple sources (e.g. Azure Datalake)
  • Develop and generate ad hoc/scheduled reporting to provide strategic support on business metrics that measure the performance and success of key projects and initiatives
  • Provide ad-hoc spend reporting and market analysis for Procurement and other corporate stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Finance and IT departments to optimize data storage and extraction for reporting
  • Engage and build strong relationships with project sponsors, stakeholders and other business units to incorporate their goals, and instill confidence and ensure alignment to and adoption of solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for new technology/automation or streamlining business processes and workflows
  • Identify, create and maintain documentation for all reporting processes and procedures. (e.g. standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workflows)
  • Provide subject matter expertise to non-IT business leaders, partners and project team members to assist with data interpretation and provide commentary for decision-making
  • Provide back-up to Buyer responsible for the Purchasing [credit] Card program, as required
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
  • Completion of a University degree in Finance, Business, Commerce, Administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Demonstrated experience in a financial or data analysis role, ideally in procurement and sourcing, and/or public sector environment
  • Procurement governance experience (e.g., processes, systems, and data functions) would be an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) to support the development of high-quality models and presentations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI and DAX modelling
  • Proficiency in data quality assurance processes, tools, and testing methods to maintain data integrity and detect inefficiencies
  • Analytical skills to gather relevant information, identify key issues, critically compare data, and develop conclusions with well-supported recommendations
  • Extreme attention to detail to ensure top quality reports for external audiences, e.g. the Board of Directors or Ministry of Transportation
  • Interpersonal and oral/written/presentation communication skills to convey ideas, information, and materials to individuals and groups
